Kerr County has become a popular destination for many American’s who are interested in traveling through the Lone Star State.  Its rich history, deep culture and stunning natural beauty make it a good fit for family vacation.  Throughout the county, there are many attractions and activities available to tourists, perhaps nowhere as many as the city of Kerrville.  Anyone interested in attractions in Kerr County should consider staying in Kerrville for at least part of their trip.

Throughout the surrounding area, there are many interesting attractions.

James Avery Craftsman:  Mr. Avery is a nationally known silver and gold jewelry artisan.  His work is simply stunning and his shop is one of the most unique in the state.

Downtown Kerrville:  Kerrville has completely renovated their downtown area.  Today, it is filled with quaint shops, some of the best antiquing anywhere in the country and many fine dining establishments.  Art is particularly well developed in the area and galleries exist for both native and contemporary art.

Stonehenge II:  As odd as it sounds, Stonehenge has been completely reproduced in Kerr County, Texas.   The area also has several reproductions of the statues found on Easter Island.  This exhibit offers visitors who cannot afford to visit the originals the chance to see this majestic and unique world wonder.

Hill Country Shooting Sport Center:  Shooting enthusiasts are sure to enjoy this gun range.  Activities include target shoot as well as skeet shooting and the complex has both a pro shop and a clubhouse.

There are other attractions within driving distance as well.  Museums, historical markers and nature trails abound in Kerr County.  Staying in Kerrville gives the traveler access to all of these attractions and more. It shouldn’t be missed.
